San Telmo is Buenos Aires oldest neighborhood. A walk along its streets will reveal the historical heritage from the colonial times up to the beginning of the 20th century. How did our customs evolve? Which were yesterday`s styles? You will learn to distinguish them and discover the changes. You will be able to visit antique shops and the famous market at Plaza Dorrego, the historical heart of the neighborhood. In San Telmo, historical patrimony of the city, you will find most of the "tanguerías" (Tango Restaurants/bars) and "casonas" (old-fashioned restaurants) from last century.
Recommended place: Defensa Alley, old aristocratic mansion.
