Past and Present
Argentina and the immigration are closely related. The neighborhood of Retiro is clear proof of this. The harbor, the railroad and the old Immigrants Hotel, located in this area, will help us to explain why they are such an important part of our history.
We can also explain what the city was like in the 18th century and from the San Martin Plaza, help you to imagine the open field that was there until the middle of the 19th century and find out why the army`s soldiers trained there. Today, this Plaza also preserves the memory of the most recent history in the commemorative monument to the War of Malvinas.
